-  Properly Light the Incense Cone: Hold the incense cone with the pointed end facing down. Light the tip and let it burn for about 4mm to ensure a proper burn. Once it’s evenly lit, gently blow out the flame, leaving a glowing ember to release the smoke smoothly.
- Ensure Smoke Flows from the Base: Observe the incense cone to confirm smoke is flowing from the bottom hole. This is essential for achieving the desired backflow effect. The smoke should travel downward in a steady stream, creating the mesmerizing waterfall effect unique to backflow incense burners.
- Align the Cone with the Burner Hole: Place the lit waterfall incense cone on the burner, ensuring the hole at the base of the cone aligns precisely with the hole in the burner.
